You have to walk a fine line between controlling Saur movement with getting beat up. I dotn even have to pick it up I can tie down your cage with saurs and rub up against the ball, making it hard to pick up and staling your advance. What I ussualy do is spot a block or chain push oppritunity and make a lane for the skinks to pour through. If you are trying to beat up the saur line and don't have a proper cage on your BC, this is an option for a lizard player. If three skins can get to your BC, thats' a 2db on your ball carrier. two or three occurances of this and you will have a hell of a time from preventing a skink from breaking away and scoring.Īlso, when on offense watch out for the skink swarm. Lizards have above average speed, so if they can blitz open a hole then can pour through. So it is not advisable if you are playing an AV7 team. The downside to trying to hold them down is that you will eat a lot of blocks. IF you can keep them separated and tied down, they are considerably weaker. If a couple of saurus are rendered useless it's a pretty big loss for the lizard coach.Ī lizard coach's worst nightmare is either having 4-5 saurus tied up in a big scrum against orcs with lots of guard while a couple tackle MB blitzers hunt skinks, or strip-ball wardancers capable of getting 2dbs on any skink anywhere on the pitch.Īll the advice here is pretty good. Otherwise, the key to dealing with lizards is dealing with the saurus, so tie them up with guard or cheap linemen, screen them off from the action, knock them down if you can and if the opportunity to gangfoul one presents itself you take it. Make sure they don't get to set up a cage or screen in your backfield. Hit skinks if the opportunity presents itself. Keep a safety or two so the skinks don't just run away (tackle is almost a must for this role). This means the lizard coach has to do a good job of caging while still making sure his saurus aren't easily tied up as well as protect his skinks. They also lack skills, and skinks don't have general access so they're not very likely to have blodge and sure hands, which combined with st 2 makes them poor ball carriers. Their skinks are fragile, and cost a lot compared to regular linemen, so you stand a decent chance of hurting them off. Lizards are vulnerable to being tied up by any team.
